Saturday, 13 Shawwaal 1435/09 August 2014.

Alssunnah Network has launched a statement regarding the current conditions, successive events and consecutive trials that the Arab and Islamic countries were afflicted with. Alssunnah Network warned in this statement against being a victim to the devastating and misguiding ideas, calling for the necessity of adhering firmly to the Noble Book of Allaah, The Almighty, and the honorable Sunnah of His Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, main body of the Muslim community and not rebelling against or separating from it.

Below is the text of the statement of the Alssunnah Network

(Call and Warning)

All perfect praise is due to Allaah, The Almighty, the Lord of the Worlds. Abundant peace and blessing be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his household, his companions and those who follow them in the best way until the Day of Resurrection.

Because of the saying of Allaah, The Almighty: {O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result.} [Quran 4: 59], Alssunnah Network (http://www.alssunnah.com) believes that it is a Sharee‘ah-based duty, according to the Noble Book of Allaah, The Almighty, and the honorable Sunnah of His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, the way of his rightly guided caliphs, his noble companions, may Allaah be pleased with them, and because of the responsibility and trust that we shoulder while observing the successive events and trials that filled our Arab and Islamic counties to have the following analyses regarding it:

Firstly, we should thank and be grateful to Allaah, The Almighty, for the multiple graces He bestowed upon us. The greatest of them is the grace of religion and faith and adhering to the two revelations as it was narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “I have left with you two things and you will never go astray as long as you cling to them - they are the Book of Allah and my Sunnah.” [Reported by Al-Haakim and it was originally reported in As-Saheeh]

Ibn Wahb, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said: “I heard Anas ibn Maalik, may Allaah be pleased with him, saying: “Adhere firmly to what the Messenger of Allaah, peace and blessings be upon him, said in Hajjatul Wadaa‘ (i.e. Farewell Pilgrimage): “And I have left among you a thing which if you adhere to, you will never be misguided after me, the Book of Allaah the Sunnah of his Prophet .”

Accordingly, it becomes incumbent upon us to adhere to and never deviate from them as it was narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Adhere to my Sunnah and to the Sunnah of the rightly guided Caliphs. Bite on to it with your molar teeth, and beware of newly invented matters, for verily every Bid‘ah (innovation) is a going astray.”

Secondly, as it is obligatory upon us to hold fast to the two great revelations (i.e. Noble Quran and honorable Sunnah), we also have to beware of all what may go against them; be a word or deed. Actually, this is the most obligatory duty and most important matter so that no foot may slip after it was once firm. Allaah, The Almighty, Says (what means): {But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission.} [Quran 4: 65]

Thirdly, if it is obligatory upon us to apply the strategy of defending ourselves against disasters and afflictions in all times and places, then it will be even more obligatory upon us to adopt it in our Arab and Islamic countries.

Amongst the most important defenses that we can apply against afflictions are the following:

1- Holding fast to our pure creed that is based on the Noble Book of Allaah, The Almighty, and honorable Sunnah of His Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, according to the understanding of the Salaf (i.e. our righteous predecessors).

No one deviates from it except due to immoderation, excessiveness, or negligence because of turning away from such upright approach that is based on moderation that Allaah, The Almighty, has praised saying (What means): {And thus we have made you a just community that you will be witnesses over the people and the Messenger will be a witness over you.} [Quran 2: 143]

2- Avoiding following one’s own desires. That is because following them is really a bad approach that leads one to the darkness of trials and leave him alone in the times of afflictions and therefore, one will be the farthest person from guidance. Allaah, The Almighty, Says (what means): {But if they do not respond to you - then know that they only follow their [own] desires. And who is more astray than one who follows his desire without guidance from Allah? Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.} [Quran 28: 50]

3- Amongst the greatest defenses is sticking to the Jamaa’ah (main body) of the Muslims for our Lord, The Exalted, commanded us to be always together and integrate. Allaah, The Almighty, Says (what means): {And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you - when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers.} [Quran 3: 103]

He, The Almighty, also says (what means): {Indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.} [Quran 21: 92]

Moreover, the Messenger of Allaah, peace and blessings be upon him, instructed us to do the same thing. Imam At-Tirmithi reported from Ibn ‘Abbaas, may Allaah be pleased with them, that the Messenger of Allaah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “The hand of Allaah is with the Jamaa‘ah.”

Another Hadeeth reported from Ibn ‘Umar, may Allaah be pleased with them, that the Messenger of Allaah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Allaah will not cause my Ummah or said the Nation of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, to agree on misguidance and the hand of Allaah is with the Jamaa‘ah.”

4- On the other hand, amongst the most fatal affliction is rebelling or separating from the Jamaa‘ah. Therefore, Muslim individual has to avoid all what may lead to separating from the main body of Muslims who gathered on a ruler such as joining parties, groups, band, team no matter how its name is and giving it loyalties that foster dissensions among Muslims. Allaah, The Almighty, Says (what means): {And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way. This has He instructed you that you may become righteous.} [Quran 6: 153]

Allaah, The Almighty, also told us that joining the main body of Muslims implies mercy while separating from them implies destruction and torture. Allaah, The Almighty, Says (what means): {...but they will not cease to differ. Except whom your Lord has given mercy, and for that He created them. But the word…} [Quran 11: 118-119]

This noble verse indicates that being together is a kind of mercy while dissension and differing are kind of punishment and hardship and develop quarrelling, disputing , fighting and hostilities.

5- Amongst the most dangerous matters that many groups and parties have fallen in and develop dissension and separate one from the main body of Muslim is the affliction of Takfeer  (declaring a person or a group to be disbelievers) regarding the rulers and then went extremely to do the same with the scholars and even doing the same with all of those who do not adopt their approach, way or party. This dangerous disaster led to another practical dangerous disaster which is attacking and killing Muslims and making their blood, honors and properties lawful.

There is absolutely no doubt that such are dangerous approaches led to bad and evil corruptions, harms and repercussions in this life and hereafter, in long and short terms.

6- Amongst the great defenses that one can adopt in such condition is to guard his tongue and pen and beware of hastening and following rumors blindly and issuing judgments without having any Sharee‘ah-based justification or proof. We also have to beware of the malicious media and depending on what different social media conveys or relying on an analyses of ignorant people who do not have the less amount of sound knowledge or understanding. Allaah, The Almighty, has dispraised a group of people saying (what means): {And of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening book [from Him].} [Quran 22: 8]

7- Amongst the other tools that we can use in defense is following all truthful religious scholars who follow the guidance of the Book of Allaah, The Almighty, and honorable Sunnah of His Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, according to the understanding of our righteous predecessors in dealing with crises and trials. Scholars are the best means of protection against slipping in the times of crises and trails and thus we have to refer to prominent scholars and verifiers who have deep knowledge of our religion.

Allaah, The Almighty, Says (what means): {And when there comes to them information about [public] security or fear, they spread it around. But if they had referred it back to the Messenger or to those of authority among them, then the ones who [can] draw correct conclusions from it would have known about it. And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, you would have followed Satan, except for a few.} [Quran 4: 83]

We have to be very careful about the unknown sources that claim having knowledge while they have no knowledge at all. Our religion is very clear and our scholars and leaders are well known since the time of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, until our present day.

8- Showing patience, tolerance and forbearance especially during the times of trials and afflictions as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and the predecessors of the Islamic Nations used to do. Whenever there is disagreement or a problem we have to refer the matter to truthful scholars for Allaah, The Almighty, Says (what means): {…So ask the people of the message if you do not know.} [Quran 16: 43]

Fourthly, what stated previously reminds all officials with their responsibility and especially those whom Allaah, The Almighty, charged with any responsibility, especially scholars, thinkers, media to fulfill their responsibility through understanding the greatness of the responsibility that they shoulder.

Fifthly, it is for our young people in our county i.e. the blessed county of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to remind ourselves and them with the following:

1- Allaah, The Almighty, has singled out our county with the two Holy Mosques and the Qiblah (i.e. prayer direction). As this really gives us great honor and we should praise Allaah, The Almighty, for it, it also obligates us to fulfill and shoulder a great responsibility of fulfilling its duties and the most important of them is represent what the two Holy Mosques represent of this religion and thus be the truthful image for it with our words and actions.

2- We are living in a country that its systems are based on the Islamic Sharee‘ah (divine laws), starting from the basic system of ruling and all other minor systems comes from it and that its leaders is governed by this honorable Sharee‘ah.

3- Allaah, The Almighty, gifted us in our counties by having a lot of the truthful religious scholars, as we think of them, who adopt the way of Ahlus-Sunnah Wal-Jamaa‘ah (who hold fast to the way of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, his companions, and those who followed their path in beliefs, speech, and actions. They also avoid innovation in matters of the religion. They represent the "Saved Group" depicted by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him), then why do we search for unknown sources to seek knowledge from? Why do we reject their advices and accept that of the unknown persons and young students of knowledge seekers and the like.

What we have to bite on to it with our molar teeth is to defend those great scholars and hold fast to their approach that is based on the Book of Allaah, The Almighty, and Sunnah of His Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and what they understood from the reported opinions of our righteous predecessors.

We have learnt from experiments, Noble Quran and honorable Sunnah that turning away from their way and Fatwas lead to evil repercussions on individuals and societies.

4- Amongst the graces that Allaah, The Almighty, conferred upon us is the unity of our word, leaders and scholars. By Allaah, The Almighty, this is one of the greatest graces. We have to avoid following every caller who seeks to develop rifts and clefts through it such as following the approaches of extremism, deviation and destruction under any name or call.

5- Our national responsibility towards our homeland, unity and gains is really great. It was narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said in Hajjatul Wadaa‘: “Your blood, your wealth and your honor are sacred among you, as sacred as this day of yours in this month of yours in this land of yours.”

6- Our enemies adopt many different ways to develop rifts and fragment our society. They start with exaggerating negative points and mistakes and then develop enmity and grudge among us, then against rulers and scholars ignoring or forgetting the many positive things that we have. Therefore, we have to be very careful and keep away from such negatives messages and thanks Allaah, The Almighty, for his graces and preserve them, try hard to mend mistakes and denounce evil deeds via Sharee‘ah-approved means and sound ways.

7- Reform and calling to Allaah, The Almighty, have upright approaches explained clearly in the Noble Quran and honorable verbal Sunnah and practical biography of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Thus, whoever seeks the knowledge of them has to refer to Muslim scholars and scientific institutions so that we may not be tools administrated by our enemies.

8- Jihaad (i.e. striving in the Cause of Allaah) is actually a Sharee‘ah-based principle in Islam; however, we should know that it has many guidelines and conditions that we have to understand well and be acquainted with so that we may not be victims for terroristic organizations and unknown groups that make us fuel for achieving their goals.

In conclusion, Alssunnah Network (http://www.alssunnah.com) advise all to fear Allaah, The Almighty, and following the way of the Muslim truthful and religious scholars and keep away of all what may negatively affect our present and future.

We ask Allaah, The Almighty, to protect us from the apparent and hidden trials, guard our countries and all other Muslim countries from every evil and harm, guide our rulers and scholars to what implies goodness for counties and people for He, The Exalted, is the only One Who can do all of this. Peace and blessing of Allaah be upon our Prophet Muhammad.
