1- Reciting and memorizing the Noble Quran:

So, we have to care much of reciting it and keep doing so. It was narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessing be upon him, said: “Read the Quran, for it will come and intercede for its readers on the Day of Resurrection.” [Reported by Muslim (854)]

Allah The Almighty says (what means), praising those who keep reciting the Noble Quran: {They recite the Verses of Allah during the hours of the night.} [Quran 3: 113]

It was narrated on the authority of Ibn Mas‘ood, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessing be upon him, said: “Whoever reads one letter from the Book of Allah will earn one good (Hasanah) thereby. One good deed is equal to ten good deeds the like of it. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is a letter, but Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter and Meem is a letter.” [At-Tirmithi (2910) and said Hasan Saheeh (good and authentic) Hadeeth]

Actually, every Muslim individual should have a specific amount of the verses that he should recites of the Book of Allah The Almighty daily until completing it. One also should keen on completing reciting it every month once or twice. One should not be occupied from reciting it with something unbeneficial.

It is highly recommended for one to start reciting the Noble Quran whenever he finishes a complete recitation of it for this was the way of our righteous predecessors.

One should memorize it wholly or a part of it. Allah The Almighty says (what means), describing the Noble Quran: {Nay, but they, the clear Ayat [i.e the description and the qualities of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessing be upon him, written like verses in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] are preserved in the breasts of those who have been given knowledge (from the people of the Scriptures).} [Quran 29: 49]

Allah The Almighty described the memorizers of the Noble Quran that they are from the scholars. Memorizing it is a way of the leaders of religion such as the companions, their followers and those who come after them till our present day.

It was narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessing be upon him, said: “It will be said to the companion of the Quran (i.e., the one who memorized and studied it): ‘Read, advance in status and recite as you used to do in the world, for your status will be commensurate with the last Aayah that you recite.” [Reported by Abu Daawood (1252) and At-Tirmithi (2838) and said it is a Hasan Saheeh (good and authentic) Hadeeth]

2- Reciting the Noble Quran regularly and making complete recitations of it repeatedly:

The one who memorizes the Noble Quran should recite it regally so that it may not escape from him. In this regard, the Prophet, peace and blessing be upon him, said: “Read this Quran regularly for, by the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, it is more likely to escape than a hobbled camel.” [Reported by Al-Bukhaari (5033) and Muslim (791)]

Being keen on reciting the parts that one memorizes from the Noble Quran in all times and conditions is one of the praised fields of competition and one of the signs of thanking Allah The Almighty for this grace. It was narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessing be upon him, said: “There should be no envy except in two cases: a man to whom Allah teaches the Quran, so he recites it during the night and during the day, and his neighbour hears him and says, ‘Would that I had been given what So and so has been given and I could do what he does, and a man to whom Allah gives wealth so he spends it all for the sake of the truth, and a man says, ‘Would that I had been given what So and so has been given and I could do what he does.” [Reported by Al-Bukhaari (2026)]
