Prophethood of Adam, may Allah exalt his mention:

Abu Salaam reported that Abu Umaamah, may Allaah be pleased with him, narrated that a man said: “O Messenger of Allaah, was Adam a Prophet?” He, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Yes, and Allah, The Almighty, spoke to him.” The man asked, “How much (time) was there between him and Nooh?” He, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Ten centuries.” He said, “And how long was there between Nuh (Noah) and Ibraaheem?” He, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Ten centuries.” He said: 'O Allah's messenger! How many messengers were there? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There were three hundred and fifteen messengers from among them." (1).

Woman is Created from the Rib of Man:

It was narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah, may Allaah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I advise you to take care of the women, for woman is created from a rib and the most crooked portion of the rib is its upper part; if you try to straighten it, it will break, and if you leave it, it will remain crooked, so I urge you to take care of the women." (2) The wording of the Hadeeth is reported by Imam Al-Bukhaari.

Habeel (Abel) and Qabeel (Cain) (3):

It was narrated on the authority of Ibn Mas‘ood, may Allaah be pleased with him, that the Messenger fo Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No human being is killed unjustly, but a part of responsibility for the crime is laid on the first son of Adam who invented the tradition of killing (murdering) on the earth. (It is said that he was Qabil). (4).

It was also narrated that Sa‘d ibn Abi Waqqaas, may Allaah be pleased with him, said: "During the Fitnah (in the time) of ‘Uthmaan ibn ‘Affaan, I testify that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'There will be a Fitnah (in the near future) during which a sitting person will be better than a standing one, and the standing one will be better than a walking one, and the walking one will be better than a running one." (5).

Argumentation Occurred Between Adam and Moosa (Moses), may Allah exalt their mention:

It was narrated on the authority of Ibn Mas‘ood, may Allaah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Moses argued with Adam and said to him (Adam), 'You are the one who got the people out of Paradise by your sin, and thus made them miserable." Adam replied, 'O Moses! You are the one whom Allah, The Almighty, selected for His Message and for His direct talk. Yet you blame me for a thing which Allah, The Almighty, had ordained for me before He created me?" The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, further said, "So Adam overcame Moses by this Argument." (6) The wording of the Hadeeth is reported by Imam Al-Bukhaari.

It was also narrated on the authority of ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattaab, may Allaah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Moosa, may Allah exalt his mention, said: 'My Lord, show us Adam who caused us and himself to come out from Paradise. So Allah, The Almighty, showed him Adam. He (i.e. Moosa) asked: 'Are you our father, Adam?' Adam, may Allah exalt his mention, said to him: 'Yes.' He said: 'Are you the one into whom Allah breathed of his spirit, taught you all the names, and commanded angels (to prostrate) and they prostrated to you?' He replied: 'Yes.' He asked: 'Then what moved you to cause us and yourself to come out from paradise?' Adam asked him: 'And who are you?' He said: 'I am Moosa.' He said, 'Are you Moosa of Bani Israa'eel whom Allah, The Almighty, spoke to from behind a partition and did not make between and you a messenger from His creation?' He said: 'Yes.' He asked: 'Did you not find that was decreed in the book (records) of Allah before I was created? He replied: 'Yes.' He asked: 'Then why do you blame me about a thing for which Divine decree had already passed before me?'

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: ''So Adam got the better of Moses in argument (peace and blessings be upon them)." (7).

Adam, may Allah exalt his mention, Feels an Appetite for the Fruits of Paradise:

‘Utayy ibn Damurah said, I saw an old man talking in Medina and I asked about him and I was told that he is Ubayy ibn K‘ab, may Allaah be pleased with him, who said in Marfoo‘ (8) Hadeeth: "When the death of Adam, may Allah exalt his mention, was near, he said to his children: "O my children, indeed I feel an appetite for the fruits of Paradise."

So they went away searching for what Adam, may Allah exalt his mention, had requested. They met with the angels, who had with them his shroud and what he was to be embalmed with. They said to them: "O Children of Adam, what are you searching for? What do you want? Where are you going?" They said: "Our father is sick and has an appetite for the fruits of Paradise." The angels, may Allah exalt their mention, said to them: "Go back, for your father is going to meet his end soon."

So they returned (with the angels) and when Eve, may Allah exalt her mention, saw them she recognized them. She tried to hide herself behind Adam. He said to her. "Leave me alone. I came before you; do not go between me and the angels of my Lord.' So they took his soul, embalmed and wrapped him, dug the grave and laid him in it. They prayed on him and put him in his grave, saying: 'O Children of Adam, this is your tradition at the time of death." (9)
